The inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace and society is an ethical imperative and a necessity for an equal and just society.

Technology, in this regard, plays a crucial role as it can be a great ally in the pursuit of inclusion.

According to a survey, 68% of people with disabilities believe that technological advancements and digitization are essential for their participation in society and the job market. Additionally, 55% believe that technology can improve their quality of life and autonomy.

SoftServe, a company specializing in software development and consulting, has partnered with the Disability Movement to launch the second edition of its EmpowerU program.

This global program aims to empower people with disabilities in technology from an inclusive perspective.

According to the United Nations (UN), globally, seven out of ten people with disabilities are not employed, compared to four out of ten people without disabilities.

This disparity disproportionately affects women with disabilities, who face significant barriers to entering the job market.

To address this gap and create more opportunities, the first edition of EmpowerU trained 25 female university students and graduates in DevOps. In this second edition, the program will focus on WebUI technology, providing participants with basic knowledge to create a web page.
