UNESCO is launching a free course on ChatGPT

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) has left an indelible mark on our society, and its impact on the field of higher education has been profound.

One of the most prominent tools in this area is ChatGPT, a language model developed by OpenAI based on the GPT-3.5 architecture.

This model, capable of understanding and generating text in natural language, has quickly gained popularity and has generated both excitement and concern in the educational field.

In order to explore the benefits and challenges associated with the use of ChatGPT in higher education, UNESCO offers a free course on this topic.

UNESCO Course on ChatGPT in Higher Education

UNESCO, through its International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC), has designed a specialized course on ChatGPT in higher education.

This course is aimed at quality managers, teachers, tutors, facilitators, and professionals who seek to improve their skills in teaching and learning processes.

Taught by Arianna Valentini, an expert in education with extensive experience in the sector, the course addresses various aspects related to ChatGPT and its application in higher education.

Throughout the program, topics such as an introduction to AI, the applications of ChatGPT in higher education, the ethical challenges posed by its use, and UNESCO’s recommendations on AI ethics will be explored.

The main objective of this course is to provide participants with the necessary tools to make the most of the advantages of AI in improving teaching and learning.

Students will learn how to register in ChatGPT and start using it with a free account, understand the main applications of AI and ChatGPT in the context of higher education, and reflect on the ethical challenges inherent in its use.
