The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), through the Coordination of Open and Distance Education (CUAIEED), has made available to all interested individuals, throughout the year 2023, free online courses to learn how to use Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
These Microsoft programs are essential in the academic and professional world.
Word, a word processor, allows for easy document creation, from reports and essays to resumes, and includes tools for formatting, inserting elements, and checking spelling and grammar. Excel, on the other hand, is a spreadsheet that facilitates the organization, analysis, and presentation of numerical data.
Finally, PowerPoint is a presentation program that allows the creation of slides with text, images, audio, video, and animations.
Mastering these tools can bring a series of benefits, such as improving productivity and efficiency, expanding computer knowledge and skills.
That’s why UNAM has decided to offer these courses, to help more people incorporate these programs into their work or study routines.
The courses are available on the Aprendo+ platform, and each of them focuses on one of the Microsoft Office programs.
The course “Basic Microsoft Office Tools: Word,” is taught by engineer Verónica Berenice Pérez Estrada from the Faculty of Engineering and covers everything from the work environment to document review and printing.
For those interested in learning or improving their Excel skills, the course “Basic Microsoft Office Tools: Excel,” taught by engineer Jonathan Martínez Razo from the Faculty of Engineering, covers everything from the basics to creating charts and printing spreadsheets.
Finally, the course “Basic Microsoft Office Tools: PowerPoint,” taught by engineer Francisco Javier Montoya Cervantes from the Faculty of Engineering, focuses on creating presentations, from the basics to configuring and printing slides.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to obtain a completion certificate.
