Currently, artificial intelligence (AI) and data science are rapidly transforming the way we live, work, and interact with the world around us.
These technologies have the potential to generate significant benefits for society, but they also pose ethical and social challenges that must be addressed responsibly.
The Linux Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of open-source software, has launched a free course on ethics in artificial intelligence and data science.
The course, titled “Ethics in AI and Data Science (LFS112x),” is designed for business, government, and technology leaders, as well as data scientists who are responsible for building and adopting AI tools.
The course consists of three chapters:
Chapter 1: The State of Ethics, Trust, and Responsibility in AI and Data Science
This chapter provides an overview of the ethical and social challenges of AI and data science, as well as best practices for addressing them.
Chapter 2: What Do We Mean by Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Why Is It Important?
This chapter introduces the fundamental concepts of AI and data science, as well as their importance in today’s society.
Chapter 3: Strategies (and Challenges) for Implementing Ethics and Responsibility
This chapter presents a series of strategies for implementing ethical principles in AI and data science.
The course is free, but it also offers a paid verification option. With the verification option, participants receive a completion certificate.
The course has a duration of 6 weeks, with a commitment of 1 to 2 hours per week. However, access to the course content is free for 6 weeks. After this period, participants can choose to upgrade to the paid verification option for unlimited access to the course content.
