Aware of the importance of this innovation, the Mexican government has decided to promote its knowledge, development, and application within society by launching a new free course on Artificial Intelligence that will be offered through the MexicoX platform.
Established in 2015 by the Secretaría de Educación Pública within the Dirección General de Televisión Educativa, MexicoX has become one of the largest digital learning communities in the country with over 2.6 million users enrolled in its Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
Taught by renowned public and private institutions, its content covers various topics necessary for navigating the 21st century, such as emotional health, entrepreneurship, finance, civil protection, or cybersecurity.
About the course
The free course on Artificial Intelligence aims to teach fundamental strategies for creating educational challenges involving the use of this technology.
The topics covered include the origins of AI, its functioning compared to human intelligence, and its application in different aspects of daily life.
Led by Professor Miguel Ángel Pérez, an expert in information ethics, and an experienced team of professionals in pedagogy and multimedia, the 20-hour course will be divided into three main modules:
- Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
- AI tools and their educational application
- Building educational challenges with AI
Best of all, anyone who successfully completes the course will receive an official certification from the Mexican government’s platform.
With this important educational initiative, the government aims to enable the thousands of citizens taking the course to gain a more critical, ethical, and informed perspective on Artificial Intelligence.
