Learn English like a journalist with the University of California course

English language proficiency has become an essential skill for communication and journalism professionals.

With the aim of strengthening the linguistic and communicative competencies of these specialists, the University of California, Berkeley has developed an English course specifically designed for journalists.

During the program, participants will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge in key areas such as journalism-specific vocabulary, news writing, reporting and interviewing, editing and proofreading, the use of social media and digital tools, as well as proper pronunciation and intonation for broadcasting.

In addition to language skills, the course also provides a cultural and historical perspective of the Anglo-Saxon world and its media.

The course is aimed at both journalism students and working journalists who wish to improve their English proficiency.

An intermediate level of English is required to make the most of the program, although English subtitles are provided to facilitate learning.

It is important to note that participants should have basic technical knowledge and access to a computer with an internet connection to access the course content, which is delivered entirely online.

The course duration is 5 weeks, with an estimated weekly study time of 3 to 4 hours.
