If you are interested in learning about data science and programming in general, IBM is offering a free and certified Python course for beginners.
This course is designed to help you develop skills in Python and data science, and in a matter of hours, you will be able to write your own Python scripts and perform basic practical data analysis.
Once you have completed the course, you will be able to create your own data science projects and collaborate with other data scientists using IBM Watson Studio.
When you register for the course, you will have free access to Watson Studio.
This course is free, and you can take it at your own pace at any time. Additionally, you can audit it as many times as you wish. You will only have one chance to pass the course, but you will have multiple attempts per question.
The course is divided into four modules.
- Module 1 covers the basics of Python, such as your first program, types, expressions and variables, and string operations.
- Module 2 focuses on Python data structures, such as lists and tuples, sets, and dictionaries.
- Module 3 covers the basics of programming in Python, including conditions and branching, loops, functions, objects, and classes.
- Finally, Module 4 focuses on working with data in Python, such as reading and writing files with open, and loading and saving data with Pandas.
If you pass all the modules and the final exam with a minimum of 70 points, you will have access to a completion certificate from IBM.
Remember that you can go at your own pace, and we recommend dedicating at least one hour per week to ensure that you are learning properly.
