The new ChatGPT app will be free to use, ad-free, and will allow voice input, according to the company, but initially, it will be limited to users in the U.S. upon launch.

This way, ChatGPT is entering a field with few competitors and can help even more people use ChatGPT, now from their phones.
The launch could also potentially impact Google, as the search engine currently benefits from being the default search engine in Safari on Apple’s iPhone.

The app is also integrated with Whisper, OpenAI’s open-source speech recognition system, to allow voice input.
ChatGPT Plus subscribers will be able to access GPT-4 capabilities through the new app, says OpenAI, in addition to receiving early access to new features and faster response times.

The company states that the rollout of the new app will begin today in the U.S. but will expand to other countries in the “coming weeks.”
An Android version is also hinted at as “coming soon.”
